The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning from Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16. While all LA County Libraries offer a break from the heat during normal hours, many locations have been activated as Cooling Centers with extended hours.
Teens! Bring a friend to the library every Tuesday in the month of March and celebrate Teens Create Month! Weekly pop-up programs are held in the teen area of the library. For ages 13 – 18.
For the month of March, Teens Create Month, we'll be celebrating by having a weekly pop-up program featuring STEM kits. Our programs will be alternating; the first and third Tuesdays we build with construction kits, learning all about mechanics, structures, and the laws of physics. Then on the second and fourth Tuesdays, we experiment with electrical circuits while learning from Snap Circuits kits. Bring a friend and learn together or have a friendly competition! Or come alone and make new friends!
Founded in 1913 as the second branch of the Los Angeles County Free Library, the San Dimas Library was originally located in the back of Fairbank's Drug Store. Subsequently, it moved to a storefront location on Bonita Avenue. The present building, located in the San Dimas Civic Center, was dedicated in 1971.
