This year, we are honoring Día by making piñatas, a popular activity often featured in celebrations. All supplies provided while they last! For ages 5 – 12 with their parent or caregiver.

El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día, is a celebration of
children, families, and reading. Libraries throughout the United States celebrate Día to connect children and
their families to diverse books, languages, and cultures. This year, we are honoring Día by making piñatas, a
popular activity often featured in celebrations. All supplies provided while they last!
For ages 5 – 12 with their parent or caregiver.
El día de los niños/El día de los libros, comúnmente conocido como Día, es una celebración de los niños, las
familias y la lectura. Las bibliotecas de todo Estados Unidos celebran el Día para poner en contacto a los niños y
sus familias con diversos libros, idiomas y culturas. Este año, honraremos el Día haciendo piñatas, una actividad
popular que a menudo aparece en las celebraciones. Todos los suministros serán
proporcionados mientras duren las existencias.
Para niños de 5 a 12 años con sus padres o cuidadores.

About the branch

Graham Library was established in April 1915. The library was first located in a school and then moved into a store building two years later. In 1928, the library was moved to a building located on Glendale and New Hampshire (now Holmes and 85th Street).

In 1938, the Graham Library moved to new quarters at the corner of Boston (now 87th Street) and Fir and continued there until 1969, when the present library was built on Firestone Boulevard. The Library was refurbished beginning May 2000 and reopened November 2001.

Graham Library was rededicated on November 8, 2001 after a $623,000 renovation. Colorful murals by Bolivian artist, Mario Cespedes, lend a festive air to the building. The library is the community center for the local neighborhood.

In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, teens will learn how to write a different language and learn about Chinese culture in a fun and a creative way through Chinese Calligraphy.  For teens 13 - 17.
