Join us in recognizing Juneteenth by learning about the holiday and creating an inspiring paper-quilling masterpiece. For tweens and teens, ages 12 - 18.

Juneteenth is a holiday, celebrated annually on June 19, that remembers the day in 1865 when word came to enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, that they were free — two years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. 

This program is funded by the County of Los Angeles Probation Department through the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA). JJCPA/Probation requires the collection of data on program participants including full name, date of birth, ethnicity, gender, zip code, and signature. Guardian consent is also required to participate.
