About the branch

Bell Gardens Library first opened in August, 1938 at 5656 Live Oak St. As the City of Bell Gardens grew and expanded, so did the library.

On September 22, 1958 the library moved to 7515 Eastern Ave. (a store front location).

The library moved to its current location, 7110 S. Garfield Avenue, on May 7th, 1970. On July 21, 2007 the library had a Grand Re-Opening ceremony to celebrate a 6-month major refurbishment project.

Learn about Morse code and create a top-secret accessory. Write your name or favorite phrase using beads and the rules of Morse code. You’ll leave with a new piece of jewelry that only those who understand Morse code can decipher! For ages 13 – 17.

Join us in creating customized marble run mazes so that the marbles can twist, turn, and spin with incredible velocity. The marbles will swivel, zig zag and zoom through your constructions. For children ages 6 -12 with a parent of caregiver.

Are you interested in the game of chess? Come to the library for casual play and check out some books that will help you keep learning about the game! Staff will be available to give basic instructions on how to play. Chess sets will be provided.
