Relax with Origami

In-Person Program

Transform simple sheets of paper into an array of beautiful flowers, animals, and more! Origami, a widely practiced paper craft that originated in Japan, gets its name from the Japanese words oru (to fold) and kami (paper). For adults.

It's a great way to relax and keep those fingers nimble.

The library will provide a guided lesson, paper, and instructions for more shapes you can create and bring home.

About the branch

The library was built by the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors in 1976 to serve the Marina clientele. The William R. Pagen Nautical Wing and the Greg and Mimi Wenger Community Room were added in 1999 through the efforts of the Marina Foundation, the Board of Supervisors and the County of Los Angeles Public Library.

The Marina del Rey Library was renamed the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library by the Board of Supervisors in recognition of the main donor to the project. Since the Marina is a small craft harbor used for recreational purposes, the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library has developed a Nautical Collection to serve the informational needs and interests of small boaters.
