Originating in 16th-century Spain, Talavera tiles have long been renowned for their beautiful motifs and artisanship. Join us to learn about the history of these iconic ceramics and recreate your own Talavera style design. For ages 13 – 17.

This program is part of LA County Library’s My Brother’s Keeper mentoring program and features an MBK Peer Advocate as a co-host and youth mentor. This program is funded in part by the Uchenna Nwosu Foundation.

Parents and guardians: Please be aware that refreshments will be served at this program. A list of ingredients will be available.

About the branch

Established in 1938 as the Keystone Branch, the library merged with the Carson Branch in 1959. The present building was opened in 1972 and serves 19.24 square miles.
