Originating in 16th-century Spain, Talavera tiles have long been renowned for their beautiful motifs and artisanship. Join us to learn about the history of these iconic ceramics and recreate your own Talavera style design. For ages 13 – 17.

This program is part of LA County Library’s My Brother’s Keeper mentoring program and features an MBK Peer Advocate as a co-host and youth mentor. Funding is provided by the LA County Department of Public Health. 

Parents and guardians: Please be aware that refreshments will be served at this program. A list of ingredients will be available.

About the branch

City Terrace Library has been at its present location since 1979. In 2009, the library was refurbished with the support of Gloria Molina, Supervisor of the First District, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Learn about artist Marc Chagall and how he created stained glass art. Then decorate your own version of stained glass using a sun catcher made out of clear plastic.  Recommended for ages 6 - 12 with parent or caregiver.
