In celebration of LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, asexual, and more) History Month, please join us to learn about the life of artist Ellsworth Kelly and create your own work of art inspired by his work.

This activity is inspired from Kelly’s use of grid-like compositions in his 1951 works, “Colors for a Large Wall”, “Spectrum Colors Arranged by Chance II,” and “Spectrum Colors Arranged by Chance IX.”

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.

About the branch

Hollydale Library was founded in 1929, apparently in a house on Paramount Boulevard. Later the library was moved to a commercial building on Main Street near Garfield Avenue. In 1945, the library lost its lease and was closed.

It was reopened in May 1948 in the same building with a larger space. Finally, a permanent home was built at the present location. The new library building opened for service in November 1966.
