In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, join us in highlighting generations of veterans and peacekeepers from Native American communities by creating a veterans shadow box out of paper. Learn more about Native American veterans and peacekeepers' contributions to the United States military branches, their impact on modern powwows, and the significance of the National Native American Veterans Memorial.

About the branch

The library was built by the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors in 1976 to serve the Marina clientele. The William R. Pagen Nautical Wing and the Greg and Mimi Wenger Community Room were added in 1999 through the efforts of the Marina Foundation, the Board of Supervisors and the County of Los Angeles Public Library.

The Marina del Rey Library was renamed the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library by the Board of Supervisors in recognition of the main donor to the project. Since the Marina is a small craft harbor used for recreational purposes, the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library has developed a Nautical Collection to serve the informational needs and interests of small boaters.
