The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning from Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16. While all LA County Libraries offer a break from the heat during normal hours, many locations have been activated as Cooling Centers with extended hours.
This workshop explores the importance of mental health, warning signs and common mental health disorders. Stigma reduction, resiliency, and promoting wellbeing will be reviewed.
Department of Mental Health Promoters Workshops tackle a range of mental health topics to help Angelenos understand and manage their mental health. We are working to reduce stigma and empower individuals to seek help when needed and recognize problems before they become crises.
In this program, participants will learn how to identify warning signs and common mental health concerns. Additionally, we will discuss ways to reduce the stigma often associated with mental health issues, resiliency, and ways to improve wellbeing.

Founded in 1915, West Covina Library has been located in the West Covina Civic Center since 1961. The first County library designed as a Regional Headquarters, it was remodeled in 1975. Today West Covina Library still serves as the East Regional County Library for the County of Los Angeles Public Library.
