Join us for an evening of play and curiosity! Help your child learn social, emotional skills, and develop fine and gross motor skills in our program, and enjoy a unique family bonding experience. For ages 0-24 months with a parent and caregiver.

During this time we will have a family community specialist discussing child passenger safety. This program is part of Smart Start at the Library, LA County Library's collection of programs and services for early learners ages 0 – 5 and their caregivers.

About the branch

Bell Gardens Library first opened in August, 1938 at 5656 Live Oak St. As the City of Bell Gardens grew and expanded, so did the library.

On September 22, 1958 the library moved to 7515 Eastern Ave. (a store front location).

The library moved to its current location, 7110 S. Garfield Avenue, on May 7th, 1970. On July 21, 2007 the library had a Grand Re-Opening ceremony to celebrate a 6-month major refurbishment project.
