The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning from Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16. While all LA County Libraries offer a break from the heat during normal hours, many locations have been activated as Cooling Centers with extended hours.
Celebrate African American and Black History Month by learning about Otis Boykin's life and inventions. Learn how his circuitry inventions impacted the world and have some fun creating an LED paper craft. For tweens & teens, ages 12 - 18.
This program is funded by the County of Los Angeles Probation Department through the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA). JJCPA/Probation requires the collection of data on program participants including full name, date of birth, ethnicity, gender, zip code, and signature. Guardian consent is also required to participate.

La Puente Library began its long career in a local schoolhouse in September 1913. It resided in a school, a bank, and the Puente Mercantile Building until 1930.
The library then moved to larger quarters several times over the next 38 years until it reached its present location in the La Puente Civic Center in November 1968.
