Join us for a delightful journey into the history of afternoon tea! Discover its fascinating origins, cherished traditions, and the classic foods and teas that make this ritual so special.

Afterward, get creative as you decorate your own cup and saucer set to take home. Don’t miss this unique experience! Light refreshments will be served. A list of ingredients will be available. 

For ages 18 and up.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.

About the branch

Bell Gardens Library first opened in August, 1938 at 5656 Live Oak St. As the City of Bell Gardens grew and expanded, so did the library.

On September 22, 1958 the library moved to 7515 Eastern Ave. (a store front location).

The library moved to its current location, 7110 S. Garfield Avenue, on May 7th, 1970. On July 21, 2007 the library had a Grand Re-Opening ceremony to celebrate a 6-month major refurbishment project.
