The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning from Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16. While all LA County Libraries offer a break from the heat during normal hours, many locations have been activated as Cooling Centers with extended hours.
Children are invited to explore the world of jazz music through a hands-on art experience as we celebrate African American & Black History Month. For ages 5 -12 with parent or caregiver.
Combining the rich history of jazz with the expressive nature of process art, this program encourages children to learn about the genre while developing their own artistic style in a fun and interactive way.
Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party, including kids. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.

The Topanga Library opened on January 21, 2012. As Al Martinez stated in his inaugural speech, "This isn't just an impressive edifice of stone and steel. It's a house of knowledge and imagination, a trip to new worlds, a journey to the mystical land of tomorrow."
The state-of-the-art library is a LEED-certified green building with a Gold rating. It has a central reading room, a children's area with a dedicated storytelling space, study rooms, and a homework center.
