The year 2025 has arrived, so let’s get off to a good start. It is never too late to do so. Join us for a vision board party. For teens ages 12 - 17. 

Jot down your ideas and bring them with you to create a vision board of pictures, phrases, words, or items that represent you, your plans, and your goals, and reflect on your aspirations! 


Supplies will be provided. 


Attendance is limited and advanced registration is recommended. You may register by phone, in-person or online at Visit.LACountyLibrary.org/Events and filter by location or event date.

About the branch

On February 22, 1973, the City of Lakewood, in cooperation with the County of Los Angeles Public Library, opened the George Nye, Jr. Library.

The library is named for Lakewood Mayor George H. Nye, Jr. who died while serving in office in May 1971.

The library is the second in the city and serves the population of the eastern area of the city which includes eight elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.

An active Friends of the Library group was formed in 1972 and supports both Lakewood libraries - George Nye, Jr. and Angelo M. Iacoboni.

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we celebrate the legacy of Sadako Sasaki and her thousand origami cranes. After learning about Sadako’s impact, you will create your own origami crane mobile.
