Join the Pico Rivera Library Book Club as we read Counterfeit by Kirsten Chen for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Month. For adults.

Enjoy the story of two Asian American women who band together to grow a counterfeit handbag scheme into a global enterprise--a glittering blend of fashion, crime, and friendship. Peering behind the curtain of the upscale designer storefronts and the Chinese factories where luxury goods are produced, Kirstin Chen interrogates the myth of the model minority through two unforgettable women determined to demand more from life.

About the branch

Founded in 1917, the new 16,000 square foot library was dedicated on December 14, 2013. It replaced the old 7,700 square foot circular library constructed in 1961. Funding for the new LEED rated library was provided by the City of Pico Rivera and Supervisorial District 1.

It is the larger of the two libraries serving the city and provides support services for two smaller libraries in the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County.
