Join us for an evening of play, curiosity, and creativity! Help your child learn social and emotional skills and develop fine and gross motor skills in our Play & Explore. For ages 0 - 24 months with a parent and caregiver.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party, including kids. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees. 

Join us for an opportunity to chat with a Family Community Specialist trained on Distracted Driving.

This program is part of Smart Start at the Library, LA County Library's collection of programs and services for
early learners ages 0 - 5 and their caregivers.

About the branch

Bell Gardens Library first opened in August, 1938 at 5656 Live Oak St. As the City of Bell Gardens grew and expanded, so did the library.

On September 22, 1958 the library moved to 7515 Eastern Ave. (a store front location).

The library moved to its current location, 7110 S. Garfield Avenue, on May 7th, 1970. On July 21, 2007 the library had a Grand Re-Opening ceremony to celebrate a 6-month major refurbishment project.
