About the branch

In 1958, two branches (Moneta, opened in 1913 and Strawberry Park opened in 1919) merged into West Gardena Library. A fire in 1969 caused the branch to move into a new building.

The new building located at 14433 S. Crenshaw, was dedicated on February 26, 1977, in honor of Mr. Masao William Satow. Mr. Satow (1908-1976) was a Japanese-American of monumental distinction. He helped in the shaping of the lives of young adults in the community.

Art for Adults: Tape Resist Art - In-Person Program

Tape resist art is a technique using tape to mask parts of a canvas. After painting removing the tape will break up the art in interesting ways. Create patterns, shapes, whatever you find interesting. Materials will be supplied. For adults.
