Join us for movie night at Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library! Tucked away in the mountains north of Beijing is a Wild West-themed gated community of Jackson Hole, China, a taste of the American dream. For adults ages 18+.

Tucked away in the mountains north of Beijing is a Wild West-themed gated community of Jackson Hole, China, that offers its several thousand Chinese residents a taste of the American dream. After facing intense criticism from the Chinese media and feeling the pressure of rising nationalism from both China and the United States, some hold tightly to the ideals of the American dream, while others strive to reconnect with their Chinese national identity within this strange haven.

The film is not rated. The movie will start promptly at 5 pm. Please be aware that refreshments will be served. A list of ingredients will be available.

For Adults.

About the branch

The library was built by the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors in 1976 to serve the Marina clientele. The William R. Pagen Nautical Wing and the Greg and Mimi Wenger Community Room were added in 1999 through the efforts of the Marina Foundation, the Board of Supervisors and the County of Los Angeles Public Library.

The Marina del Rey Library was renamed the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library by the Board of Supervisors in recognition of the main donor to the project. Since the Marina is a small craft harbor used for recreational purposes, the Lloyd Taber-Marina del Rey Library has developed a Nautical Collection to serve the informational needs and interests of small boaters.
