Join the Pico Rivera Library Book Club as we discuss the novel Before the Fall by Noah Hawley. For adults.

On a foggy summer night, a private jet heading to New York crashes into the ocean. The only survivors are an unknown painter, Scott Burroughs, and a four-year-old boy, who is now the last remaining member of an immensely wealthy and powerful media mogul's family. Was it by chance that so many important people died on the flight? Or was something more sinister at work? Amid trauma and chaos, the fragile relationship between Scott and the young boy grows and glows at the heart of this novel, raising questions of fate, morality, and the inextricable ties that bind us together.

About the branch

Founded in 1917, the new 16,000 square foot library was dedicated on December 14, 2013. It replaced the old 7,700 square foot circular library constructed in 1961. Funding for the new LEED rated library was provided by the City of Pico Rivera and Supervisorial District 1.

It is the larger of the two libraries serving the city and provides support services for two smaller libraries in the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County.
