Do you know a non-literate Spanish-speaking adult who wants to learn basic reading or writing in Spanish? Students will learn the sounds of the alphabet, read and write simple words, and learn writing skills in Spanish. For adults.

The course is not a Spanish as a second language course and was designed for adults who never went to school or who attended for only 1 – 2 years. The program is held in person on the second floor of the library. For more information, please call the adult literacy staff at 562-367-0500.

About the branch

Proudly serving the residents of the vibrant City of Huntington Park and neighboring areas, the Huntington Park Library was founded in 1913 and originally housed in the City Hall.

As the library continued to grow, it moved to larger locations in 1924 and 1931. The present library building in the Civic Center was dedicated in 1970.

A significant sculpture designed by artist Tom Van Sant, "Flight Form," was also dedicated in 1970 and is suspended from the second floor ceiling.

An active Friends of the Library group was formed in 1996 to promote and support Library services to the community.
