If you're curious about what happens to a book as it moves from manuscript to printed work, this is the roundtable for you. Our experts are ready to answer all of your questions about the publishing process, how the market moves, and what editors are really looking for.
Eden works in adult books, and would be a great person to ask about genre fiction, memoir, and adult fiction.
Please note: this is a Q&A opportunity and not a pitch session.
This roundtable will take place in the Crescent Room in the West Hollywood Aquatic Center.
Eden Railsback is an Editorial Assistant at Hanover Square Press with HarperCollins, and is eager to acquire both character driven upmarket fiction, as well as insightful and fascinating nonfiction, especially from queer, BIPOC, and early-career authors. In fiction, she edits across a wide range of genres ranging from sci-fi and fantasy to thriller and suspense, and loves reading speculative fiction and ethnofuturisms with a grounded sense of place. In nonfiction, she has edited several beloved memoir and pop science books, including Emmy-nominated comedian Mike Drucker's Good Game No Rematch, geochemist Tamsin Mather's Adventures in Volcanoland, and archeologist Armin Schmitt's The Lost World of the Dinosaurs. She's on the hunt for books with complex characters and character dynamics, narratives that reevaluate how we navigate society, and high-concept stories that have something to say about the world.
