Join LA County Librarian and Director, Dr. Skye Patrick, in conversation with Ash Brandin, author of Power On: Managing Screen Time to Benefit the Whole Family.

Now that all of those new devices are unwrapped, let's talk about screen time and how to make it work for your family. Ash Brandin is a gamer, an educator, and an expert on navigating the role that technology can play in our lives and our families, and they join us to discuss the ideas and methods in their book Power On: Managing Screen Time to Benefit the Whole Family. Ash isn't here to tell you that screens don't or can't play a role in your family's life, but rather how to manage them as the useful tool they are. We'll be talking about boundaries and balance, staying safe online-- and we'll have plenty of time for your questions.

Ash Brandin is an educator, researcher, and gaming enthusiast dedicated to bringing game-inspired strategies into the classroom and helping families navigate the complexities of screen time. They are the author of the bestselling book Power On: Managing Screen Time to Benefit the Whole Family and the founder of The Gamer Educator, a platform where they share practical ways to manage screen time that work for both parents and kids.
