Participants will learn and work together to create a group quilt that will be submitted and displayed at the LA County Fair Home Arts competition. Learn how to operate a sewing machine and the basics of putting together a quilt. For ages 10 - 17

Participation Rules:

  • All quilters must be 10-17 years old
  • Quilters must return a filled out permission slip to participate in the program
  • The quilt that is created will become property of LA County Library
  • The quilt will be displayed at the LA County Fair Competitions Hall from May 7 - May 31, 2026
  • The quilt may be displayed at the library at staff's discretion
  • Participation in all three quilting bee sessions is not required, but is recommended to gain the full experience of quilt-making

About the branch

Claremont Library was founded in 1914. It has been at its current location since 1928. The present building opened on April 25, 1975. The Friends of the Claremont Public Library was founded in 1957.
