Learn to use a sewing machine and practice your hand sewing skills to make a unique coaster! Kantha is an embroidery/quilting technique from Bangladesh and Bengal that is both beautiful and practical. For adults.

All materials provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fabric scraps for a more personalized project. 

Participants may also bring their own sewing machine if desired. This will allow more people to participate in the workshop. Please let Librarian Priscilla know if you plan on bringing your own machine. 

Sewing machines are limited and registration is required. Please register every individual in your party. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.

About the branch

Claremont Library was founded in 1914. It has been at its current location since 1928. The present building opened on April 25, 1975. The Friends of the Claremont Public Library was founded in 1957.
