In this letter, you'll describe how the author's work has altered your worldview or affected your life in a meaningful way.  Don't miss out on this opportunity! Winners will be announced on April 25, 2026.

The rules:

Open to students ages 13-18
Entries must be 1,000 words or less
Entries must be emailed to ReadTogetherDB@library.lacounty.gov, mailed, or dropped off at Diamond Bar Library
All entries become the property of LA County Library
This completed form must accompany all essay submissions
No AI writing assistance

About the branch

Originally opened in 1977, the Diamond Bar Library has long provided valuable services to both residents and visitors.

The Diamond Bar Library at 1061 Grand Avenue was rededicated on August 15, 1998 after renovations made possible by the City of Diamond Bar Redevelopment Agency, the County of Los Angeles, and the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library.

On July 28, 2012, the Diamond Bar Library celebrated the grand opening of the new location at 21800 Copley Drive. The new 18, 245 square foot library is located on the 1st floor of the City Hall building.
