Join us to create Japanese American paper flowers. For adults.
Without access to fresh flowers, Japanese Americans incarcerated during World War II brightened their surroundings by creating bouquets from crepe paper, magazines, newspapers, tissue paper, or whatever materials were available to them in the camps.
This program is part of One Book, One Coast which brings together library systems across California, Washington State, and Oregon for a shared community reading program that celebrates literacy, learning, community, and civil discourse.

Bell Library was established in 1913 as the 29th branch of the County of Los Angeles Public Library System. After having been relocated several times, the library was built at the present location in 1960.
Due to the rapid growth of the community, the building was expanded in 1973. It is presently serving one of the most culturally diverse communities in Los Angeles County.
