Summer Reading Program Volunteers

Are you a teen interested in making a difference in your library and community? Becoming a teen volunteer is a great way to contribute to your neighborhood and earn high school service hours. Stop in and ask how to apply online. Our Summer Discovery Program occurs June 1 through August 9. We look forward to working with you this summer. 

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.

About the branch

La Verne Library was originally established as the "Traveling Library" on October 1, 1914, when the Lordsburg Library Board of Trustees joined the Los Angeles County Library system. After numerous moves to ever larger facilities, the La Verne Library moved to its current location at 3640 D Street on July 29, 1985.

Join us to create a watercolor postcard inspired by professional artist Chiura Obata who was an inmate at a Japanese incarceration camp and taught classes in drawing and painting portraits and remembrances of life before incarceration.
