The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning from Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16. While all LA County Libraries offer a break from the heat during normal hours, many locations have been activated as Cooling Centers with extended hours.
Bibliophiles are welcomed! Join us each month for a facilitated discussion of fiction and non-fiction titles. A limited number of copies are available for book club attendees at the library. For adults.
Our Book Club meets on the last Wednesday of every month. Light refreshments will be provided. For a list of ingredients and nutritional information, please contact our Adult/Teen Librarian, Lisa Hoang, at 626.444.9506.
July's Book Pick is The Collaborators by Michael Idov.
A modern spy thriller that follows two damaged, smart, very millennial protagonists: Ari Falk, a CIA officer reeling after the loss of a key Russian asset, and Maya Chou, the estranged daughter of a vanished Russian-American billionaire. Their separate crises slowly intertwine into a globe-spanning investigation involving Russian oligarchs, intelligence agencies, disinformation campaigns, and the long aftershocks of the Soviet collapse.
A small number of copies will be available for checkout on June 24, 2026.
