Let’s get ready for school! Enjoy books, songs, rhymes, and movement while learning school readiness skills and having fun. A California Child Support Representative will also be available from 10-12pm. For ages 2 - 4 with their parent or caregiver.
On September 11, 2026 from 10 - 12 pm, a California child support representative from the Department of Child Support will be available to provide information on their services and be available to answer questions.
This program is part of Smart Start at the Library, LA County Library's collection of programs and services for early learners ages 0 - 5 and their caregivers.
Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party, including kids. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.

Initially, the Wiseburn Coordinating Council, formed in 1952, was instrumental in securing the services of the Los Angeles County Mobile Library for 2 years.
They later petitioned Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn and County Librarian John Henderson for the establishment of a permanent Wiseburn Library in the Del Aire area. A small County Library facility (20' x 60') staffed with one librarian was opened on January 4, 1956 in a store front building, next door to a bar, at 11936 Aviation Blvd.
Despite its popularity, it was closed after several years and not replaced due to lack of suitable housing. Continued community efforts and the support of Supervisor Hahn, eventually resulted in an unprecedented tri-governmental agreement and the dedication of the present structure on February 12, 1966.
The Wiseburn School District currently owns the building, and leases it to the County of Los Angeles Public Library for use as a public library.
