Teens will learn about Teen Read Month & Banned Books Week while decorating tote bags with popular sayings that support banned books such as: "I Read Banned Books” or "Keep Calm & Read Banned Books". All materials will be provided. For ages 13 - 17.

Voice your opinions and make suggestions for new programs and services, while working with teens who share your interest in the library, and helping the community.

Community service hours are available for eligible teens.

Please be aware that refreshments will be served at this program. A list of ingredients will be available.

Refreshments are sponsored by the Friends of the Hawthorne and Wiseburn Libraries.

About the branch

The library was founded in 1913 and moved to its present location in 1962. The facility was remodeled in 1978. The Friends of the Hawthorne Libraries started in 1979. The library serves a 5.99 square mile area.
