Hello Kitty® and Friends LA County Library card availability varies by location. For the latest updates, please visit your library location’s webpage. Another restock is planned for Tuesday, November 10. Due to high call volume and changing inventory, staff are unable to confirm card availability by phone.
Thanks to the generous support of LA County 1st District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, Montebello Library will soon receive exciting renovations and updates.
Improvements will include a new circulation desk, new information desk, new flooring, new library signage, modernized meeting room, updated bookshelf end caps, and fresh interior and exterior paint. Join us for a kickoff event to learn more about the upcoming improvements! Then, stick around for Billy Bonkers Magic Show at 3 pm!
Montebello Library was established in January 1914 and was first located in the local newspaper office. In 1916 the library moved to the local post office. In 1924 the library moved to its first separate building.
Montebello was the first city in the county to build a library with funds raised by a bond issue ($30,000). The building was erected in July 1930 at 115 So. Taylor Avenue. It served the community for 36 years before the library's current building was dedicated on October 20th, 1966.
