Chicanidad Continua! An afternoon of musica, historia y cultura

In-Person Program

Join us as we explore living Chicano culture with performances by youth musicians, a discussion of Mexican Independence, the story of how a man found his Chicano identity, and an update on the cross-cultural STEM program, Lowrider Lab.

Join us as we continue our yearly series, Chicanidad! Event sponsors Operation Street Kidz have once again gathered some of our community’s best Chicanx voices to present their living work. This year we’ll hear the music of youth musicians Romi Love, Ellie Gracey and Tsukiko. We’ll explore the history of Mexican independence with Professor C. Writer/poet Jacob Terán will present Reconnecting Raices sharing his experiences re-finding his Chicanidad. Christina Romero from Lowrider Lab will share about the great program where students use science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to connect with their culture.
