Come join us for a morning of play, curiosity, and creativity. Help children learn social and emotional skills through shared play time and enjoy a unique family bonding experience. For children ages 0 - 5 and their caregivers.

This program is part of Smart Start at the Library, LA County Library's collection of programs and services for early learners ages 0 – 5 and their caregivers.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party, including kids. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees. 

Please join us after Play & Explore for Parent Café, an opportunity to chat with other caregivers and gather parenting tips from a Triple P Positive Parenting Program accredited librarian: October 1, 2026.

About the branch

The library was established in February of 1969 in honor of Congressman Chet Holifield, 19th District (served 1943-1974). The library primarily serves the residents of south Montebello. In January 2011, the library reopened after a year-long refurbishment project.
