Lacing activities are a perfect fine motor activity and strengthens visual perception skills.  It is also a great way to instill the idea of sewing. Practice your lacing skills by making your own Fabulous Foam Lacing Coin Purse.

We will also read books on money basics and learn about the principles of spending and saving wisely.  For ages 5 – 12 with parent or caregiver.

Attendance is limited and advance registration is required. Registration opens 1 week before program. To sign up, see library staff, or register online at Visit.LACountyLibrary.org/events and filter by location or event date.

Event is held in-person and masks are required for attendees ages 2 and up; please see the Guidelines for Attendees during the registration process for more information.

About the branch

Walnut Library was founded in March 1916 in the original Walnut Elementary School. It was maintained there until 1964 when bookmobile service was initiated to better serve the area.

When the Walnut population increased, a 3,250 square foot rental storefront at 134 N. Pierre Street was opened in 1970. The library has been at the present location since February 13, 1985.
