October is Friends of the Library appreciation month. The Friends of La Verne Library are expanding their book sale into our lobby. This is a great opportunity to browse for books, CDs and DVDs to add to your collection.

About the branch

La Verne Library was originally established as the "Traveling Library" on October 1, 1914, when the Lordsburg Library Board of Trustees joined the Los Angeles County Library system. After numerous moves to ever larger facilities, the La Verne Library moved to its current location at 3640 D Street on July 29, 1985.

Eric Hernandez is a traditional Native American Hoop Dancer affiliated with the Lumbee Tribe. Taught Hoop Dancing by his uncle, champion Hoop Dancer Terry Goedel, at the age of 12, Eric has shared his Hoop Dance with over 1 million spectators.
