Star Party

In-Person Program

Join us and explore the night sky while we take the telescope out for an evening of stargazing. A newly discovered comet, C/2022 E3, should also be visible.  This is an outdoor event so please dress accordingly. For adults.

This event is conditional based on the weather that day, please call us that afternoon to confirm conditions will allow this to happen.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party, including kids. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees. 

This event is held in-person. LA County Public Health strongly encourages masks and physical distancing indoors regardless of vaccination status. Masks will continue to be available for customers upon request. Please see the Guidelines for Attendees during the registration process for more information.

About the branch

In 2003, John Brevidoro and his brother, Robert, donated 1.5 acres of land on Crown Valley Road in Acton to the County of Los Angeles for the site of a new County library to serve the residents of the communities of Acton and Agua Dulce in northern Los Angeles County. The Brevidoro brothers donated the land in memory of their parents, Christopher C. and Ida G. Brevidoro, the founders of the Colombo Lilac Ranch in Acton.

The library itself is named in honor of their father, Christopher Colombo Brevidoro, who emigrated from Genoa, Italy to California in November 1920. The children's reading area within the library is named in honor of their mother, Ida Ghio Brevidoro, a native Southern Californian.

The Library opened on September 29, 2010.
