The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning from Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16. While all LA County Libraries offer a break from the heat during normal hours, many locations have been activated as Cooling Centers with extended hours.
Join us in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a special family Storytime. We will read stories and sing songs, in English and Spanish. Afterwards, we will create a craft celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. For ages 5 – 12.
This event is held in-person. LA County Public Health strongly encourages masks and physical distancing indoors regardless of vaccination status. Masks will continue to be available for customers upon request.

The original Sunkist-La Puente Library was dedicated and opened on Monday, March 28, 1960 to become the second library in the City of La Puente. This storefront library was located at 13913 Elliot Avenue in the Sunkist Shopping Center. The library was dedicated by Supervisor Frank Bonelli. The library remained in that location for 18 years.
Friday, February 10, 1978, was the dedication date of the newly built Sunkist Library, located at 840 N. Puente Avenue, just one block from its old location. Present at the opening were the County Librarian Carol Moss and Supervisor Pete Schabarum.
