In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month come to the library to learn about Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo and make a traditional folk art Nicho box. which is a recessed display box that is often used in Dia de los Muertos celebrations. For Adults. 

A Nicho box is a recessed display box that is used as a portable shrine to an important figure or loved one. Nicho boxes are typically seen during Dia de los Muertos celebrations to honor beloved family members or people or objects in popular culture.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party, including kids. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.

This event is held in-person. LA County Public Health strongly encourages masks and physical distancing indoors regardless of vaccination status. Masks will continue to be available for customers upon request. Please see the Guidelines for Attendees during the registration process for more information.

About the branch

Originally opened in 1977, the Diamond Bar Library has long provided valuable services to both residents and visitors.

The Diamond Bar Library at 1061 Grand Avenue was rededicated on August 15, 1998 after renovations made possible by the City of Diamond Bar Redevelopment Agency, the County of Los Angeles, and the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library.

On July 28, 2012, the Diamond Bar Library celebrated the grand opening of the new location at 21800 Copley Drive. The new 18, 245 square foot library is located on the 1st floor of the City Hall building.
