Are you going to be helping in the kitchen during school break? If so, every chef needs their own apron. Learn about how much families have changed in ways they cook together.

Each child will decorate their own canvas apron. All supplies will be provided while they last. For ages 5 - 12 with their parent or caregiver.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party, including kids. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees. 

This event is held in-person. LA County Public Health strongly encourages masks and physical distancing indoors regardless of vaccination status. Masks will continue to be available for customers upon request. Please see the Guidelines for Attendees during the registration process for more information.

About the branch

Graham Library was established in April 1915. The library was first located in a school and then moved into a store building two years later. In 1928, the library was moved to a building located on Glendale and New Hampshire (now Holmes and 85th Street).

In 1938, the Graham Library moved to new quarters at the corner of Boston (now 87th Street) and Fir and continued there until 1969, when the present library was built on Firestone Boulevard. The Library was refurbished beginning May 2000 and reopened November 2001.

Graham Library was rededicated on November 8, 2001 after a $623,000 renovation. Colorful murals by Bolivian artist, Mario Cespedes, lend a festive air to the building. The library is the community center for the local neighborhood.

In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, we're highlighting generations of veterans and peacekeepers from Native American communities by creating a veteran's shadow box with silhouettes and a frame made from paper.

Come to storytime featuring real live animals! We will read 4 short stories that feature animals, meet those live animals, and discuss what was true in each story about those animals. Audience members even get to touch the animals and ask questions!
