This event is held in-person. LA County Public Health strongly encourages masks and physical distancing indoors regardless of vaccination status. About the branch

Bell Library was established in 1913 as the 29th branch of the County of Los Angeles Public Library System. After having been relocated several times, the library was built at the present location in 1960.

Due to the rapid growth of the community, the building was expanded in 1973. It is presently serving one of the most culturally diverse communities in Los Angeles County.

Spend a fun and relaxing afternoon painting and learning some art techniques. Each person will get to complete their own painting to take home. This program is designed for adults of all learning abilities. All supplies will be provided.

Let’s get ready for school! Enjoy books, songs, rhymes, and movement while learning school readiness skills and having fun. For ages 2 - 5 with their parent or caregiver.

Do you know when we started celebrating Mother's Day? Find the answer in a library book. Materials will be provided for those who wish to make greeting cards and gifts for their loved ones. For ages 5 - 12.

Join us to learn about The Power of Positive Parenting and explore strategies to take home and try with your family. This seminar will be led by an accredited Triple P Positive Parenting Program librarian. For parents and caregivers of ages 3 - 12.

Perler beads are plastic fuse beads that you place on a grid and melt together. They are a fun way to explore your creativity. You will have a chance to design your own favorite book character using available library resources. For ages 13 - 17.

Wed, May 22, 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Become a shipbuilder at the library.  We provide the materials and guidance, and you provide design skills and elbow grease.  Once you’re done, we put them on the water and see how they hold up.  For ages 8 - 12.

Sat, May 25, 2:00pm - 3:00pm
Join us for a hands-on activity where you play with science and make your own slime. All supplies will be provided. For ages 5 - 12.

Wed, May 29, 4:30pm - 5:30pm
Are you an experienced crocheter? Drop by and share your knowledge with other teens. Don't know how? We will help you start with the basics. We encourage all levels of experience. For ages 13 - 17.
