Are you a teen interested in making a difference in your library and community? Join the Teen Advisory Board! You will have the opportunity to voice your opinion and provide suggestions for new programs and services, while working with teens that share your interests in the library, and helping the community. You can even earn community service hours while you have fun. New participants are always welcome—bring a friend!

About the branch

Founded in 1917, the new 16,000 square foot library was dedicated on December 14, 2013. It replaced the old 7,700 square foot circular library constructed in 1961. Funding for the new LEED rated library was provided by the City of Pico Rivera and Supervisorial District 1.

It is the larger of the two libraries serving the city and provides support services for two smaller libraries in the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County.

Teens are invited to learn how to make amigurumi, the Japanese art of crocheting small creatures using yarn. Participants will get a penguin project to work on and take home. Knowledge of crochet basics is necessary.  For teens ages 12 - 18.
