Join City of West Hollywood Poet Laureate Jen Cheng as we play with this interactive sculpture to celebrate National Poetry Month! For adults.

As we move the word magnets around, discover phrases developed together by our class to give us new writing inspiration. Come with curiosity and play! Sculpture is designed for various accessibilities. No writing experience needed. Stay after class from 1 - 2 pm for a light reception and mingling with community members.

Jen Cheng is the current City of West Hollywood Poet Laureate, author of Braided Spaces, a California Arts Council Fellow, a Tin House Workshop alumna, and a multidisciplinary storyteller who amplifies under-represented voices. She is a Teaching Artist with The Loft Literary Center and teaches with various writing centers. Connect with her on social media @JenCvoice or www.JenCvoice.com.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. This will be used to save your spot in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.

About the branch

West Hollywood Library began service to the area (then unincorporated ) in 1913. The library was previously located at Sherman School, a cottage on Clark Street, a building on Westbourne Drive, and a building near the present site. The Library has an active Friends of the Library group.

The new library was dedicated October 1, 2011.
