Celebrate native plants and the heritage of Tovaangar which is the homeland of the Tongva people. Learn about California’s native flora and their names in both English and the Tongva language, then bring them to life through art. For Ages 12-18.

Participants will color a native plant design and seal it onto a tile, creating a unique keepsake that can be displayed as art or used as a coaster.

About the branch

Bell Gardens Library first opened in August, 1938 at 5656 Live Oak St. As the City of Bell Gardens grew and expanded, so did the library.

On September 22, 1958 the library moved to 7515 Eastern Ave. (a store front location).

The library moved to its current location, 7110 S. Garfield Avenue, on May 7th, 1970. On July 21, 2007 the library had a Grand Re-Opening ceremony to celebrate a 6-month major refurbishment project.
