Celebrate Native American History Month by joining us as we learn to create a paintbrush from yucca leaves and paint on watercolor paper with red ochre. For ages 13 –17.

Lazaro Arvizu Jr., an artist, educator, musician, and researcher who is knowledgeable of the land and cosmology of the Gabrielino/Tongva, the indigenous people of the Los Angeles basin, will share the story of foothill Yucca, ochre relationships with each other and humans.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.

About the branch

Originally opened in 1977, the Diamond Bar Library has long provided valuable services to both residents and visitors.

The Diamond Bar Library at 1061 Grand Avenue was rededicated on August 15, 1998 after renovations made possible by the City of Diamond Bar Redevelopment Agency, the County of Los Angeles, and the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library.

On July 28, 2012, the Diamond Bar Library celebrated the grand opening of the new location at 21800 Copley Drive. The new 18, 245 square foot library is located on the 1st floor of the City Hall building.
