Would you like to learn how to embroider beautiful designs by hand? Join our 5-week learning workshop! Each week, learn new stitches and build upon your skills. All materials are provided, while supplies last. Registration required. For adults.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees. 

Please do not register for this program if you cannot commit to weekly attendance. If you do not attend the first workshop, you will be dropped from the rest of the workshops.

There is the 15-minute grace period for tardiness. Doors shut after 15 minutes.

Week 1 (September 1st): Embroidery Supplies 101. Stitches: Regular, Running, Back

Week 2 (September 8th): Review previous stitches, Q&A, Stitches: Whipped, Whipped Back, Split

Week 3 (September 15th): Review previous stitches, Q&A, Stitches:  Chain, Satin, Long + Short

Week 4 (September 22th): Review previous stitches, Q&A, Stitches: Lazy Daisy, Stem, Fishbone

Week 5 (September 29th): Review previous stitches, Q&A, Stitches: French Knots, Woven Wheel

About the branch

Friendly El Monte, the End of the Santa Fe Trail, was incorporated in 1912. The city was once home to Gay's Lion Farm during the 1930s and famous for the roaring lion on MGM's logo.

The El Monte Library was founded in 1890, and joined the Los Angeles County Public Library in 1913. It has been at its present location since 1967.
