¡Como la flor! Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by learning about Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla and designing an outfit for your own paper doll.

¡Como la flor!  Singer Selena Quintanilla, was known for many things including her iconic outfits which she designed herself.  Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by learning more about the "Queen of Tejano Music."  Afterwards, tap into your creativity just like Selena, and express your individuality by designing outfits for your own paper doll, or muñeca de papel.

About the branch

In 1958, two branches (Moneta, opened in 1913 and Strawberry Park opened in 1919) merged into West Gardena Library. A fire in 1969 caused the branch to move into a new building.

The new building located at 14433 S. Crenshaw, was dedicated on February 26, 1977, in honor of Mr. Masao William Satow. Mr. Satow (1908-1976) was a Japanese-American of monumental distinction. He helped in the shaping of the lives of young adults in the community.
