El día de los Niños (Children's Day) is a celebration of children, families, and reading that was introduced by acclaimed author Pat Mora and is celebrated in conjunction with Mexico's El día del Niño--a 100 year old tradition.

About the branch

The library was established in February of 1969 in honor of Congressman Chet Holifield, 19th District (served 1943-1974). The library primarily serves the residents of south Montebello. In January 2011, the library reopened after a year-long refurbishment project.
